International Week

We kicked off International Week by participating with the other foreigners in the “Food Festival”. The International College asked us to prepare an American dish to serve to the students on campus. This was quite the challenge being that typical “American” ingredients are either limited or not available at all in our town! We accepted the challenge and decided to make Apple Crisp and Macaroni and Cheese! I know, I know.. you are probably thinking, “Cheese?! Where did you find cheese?!” Well, thankfully we received a block of Velveeta in a care package. We used the Velveeta and found a 5 lb. bag of pasta noodles in town! We have apples, oatmeal, brown sugar, flour, and sugar here available in town, and we brought a container of cinnamon from home. The Food Festival was a big success! We fed 200 people with our Mac n’ Cheese and Apple Crisp!
