We spent Easter Sunday with a group of 9 students (most of our regulars plus some newbies) in our home. We made homemade hamburgers with ground pork (not really able to find real beef in our town), deviled eggs, potato salad, baked beans, and carrot cake! It was such a feast with the help of a few care-package items!
We had a round-table pryer, ate, and then played games. We went outside for an egg toss and an egg-spoon relay race. We came inside to dye Easter eggs, and then Chris and Becky went outside in the dark to hide them all.
Then, the students were given flashlights and headlamps for a “Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt”. It was an absolute blast and it brought us much joy to see these students experience their first Easter celebration.
