Our time in Thailand was spent relaxing with friends, visiting Burmese refuges, and getting more medical check-ups/shots. Our cup is running over with joy from the time we spent laughing, having fun, sharing meals, speaking English, and encouraging one another. Sometimes we keep going, going, and going without realizing that it is healthy for us to take a break and allow restoration, rejuvenation, and relaxation from the Father.
We want to give a special thanks to those who helped us with our Thailand visit and to our community back home.
Our medical exams were very successful and much needed. We had no problems getting our last Japanese Encephalitis vaccination this time. Other than a few minor infections, nothing too ordeal came up. We were given plenty of good medicine and great care that we cannot receive in the country we live in.
We had a blast hanging out with our shepherd and friends. It was an encouraging time to be with each other in a place of rest and relaxation. We spent some time in the Word debriefing with them, and our shepherd reminded us that we are called to be “a light in a dark place” and that sometimes that is all that we can be. It was uplifting to hear this piece of truth from him, especially in times when we may be discouraged.
It was also an awesome time to be with our friends in the town they are serving in. We were able to visit their local community on a Sunday morning and listen to Burmese people sing praises to the Father and speak His truth. There is no sweeter sound than to hear the Father being praised in multiple languages. We also went to a couple of home cell gatherings, which really reminded us of our life groups/Sunday school classes back home in the states. One Burmese man literally lives inside of a zoo where he works during the day and sleeps near the penguins at night. We held a home cell gathering inside of this zoo! It goes to show that when two or more are gathered, He is there, and it can certainly be anywhere! The Burmese children are absolutely adorable and it was so fun to play with them while we were in our friends’ neighborhood.
