The Simple Life - Week 12

Drawing Them Closer

What a week! We are now in full swing as we host both visiting teams from Texas! Chris went up to the big city to meet our second team and he brought them down today to our town. His time in the big city was very productive and he was able to plan a full-day village trip for both teams during their time here. This will be a new opportunity we are able to offer for visiting teams. They will travel a few hours outside of the big city to meet and engage the women and children that make the handicraft items and work in tea production. We pry that Father will use this opportunity to open the hearts and eyes of each team member and that this experience will be a deep impact in their lives.

While in the big city Chris was also able to have some meaningful meetings with new partners. Out of these meetings came new Word audio files in the languages that surround our town.

Our time with students on campus has been booming! We know a major reason for this is due to the relationships our students are making with the visiting teams!

Quick G-story: Becky met her friend M through a visiting team from North Carolina exactly 1 year ago. This team was able to share with her and introduce her to Father and gave her a good book. Once they left, M and Becky have continued to meet and read together each week and they have become really good friends. She has worn a jade Buddha necklace around her neck for her entire life, but she is not a Buddhist. Well, the last couple of weeks she has been in pain from hurting her foot. We have spent a lot of time prying for her foot. She said, “Even though I am not a follower, I can feel Father’s love for me. He loves me even though I do not believe in Him. I ask Him to heal my foot, and even if He does not heal my foot all the way, I know He has a plan for me.” M went to the hospital on Thursday to get an x-ray. She came over to our house the next day, grinning ear to ear, and pointing to her necklace. Except, the necklace she was pointing to was not the jade buddah necklace she has worn every day of her life, it was a silver necklace with two hearts! She took off her necklace! Becky immediately embraced her and they both started crying. M said, “This does not mean that I am a follower yet, but this is my first step. Before 1 year ago, I did not know Father existed. But now, I know He is real and He loves me and He healed my foot! The doctor said my foot is healed and I know it is a miracle from the Father!” He is moving! Just last week, Becky felt discouraged with what started to feel like their relationship wasn’t moving very far. And then something like this happens and we are reminded that ultimately, Father will make Himself known! Please continue to lift up M as she continues to step closer towards a relationship with the King.
